A Solo Piano Performance
with Jason Moran
“Reactivating histories in new contexts is at the core of Moran’s practice. Sometimes this is as simple as playing songs from another era to the next generation of listeners. Elsewhere, it means rescuing archives from obscurity, even if they are transformed in the process.”
—Ian Bourland
Renowned musician Jason Moran delivered an intimate piano performance with a focus on jazz composition on the rooftop of the Aspen Art Museum during ArtWeek 2024—featuring an impromptu duet with artist Ryan Trecartin. Moran is recognized for his pioneering innovations in the performing arts and was the recipient of the 2024 Aspen Award for Art.
